KHAFRA Operation Services was formed in 2004 as an outgrowth of the facility management contracts formerly undertaken by KHAFRA Engineering Consultants, Inc. beginning with its facility management work on the 115 MGD Messerly Wastewater Reclamation Plant in Augusta, GA.
KHAFRA’s experience includes facility management of water and wastewater treatment plants ranging in size from 0.5 MGD to 96 MGD. As part of this effort KHAFRA has been involved in the reading of 165,000 commercial and residential water meters for the City of Atlanta. In addition KHAFRA was part of the Joint Venture that installed and retrofitted 150,000 of those City of Atlanta meters with a hybrid fixed network and drive-by automated meter system. Currently, KHAFRA is part of a team providing deployment services for 1,885,000 gas and electric meters for Baltimore Gas and Electric and 2,000,000 electric meters for Philadelphia Electric Company.
