LAND SURVEY- PARTY CHIEF

KHEOPS Architecture, Engineering and Survey, DPC (KHEOPS) is seeking Land Survey Party Chiefs in our Buffalo, NY office.  Qualified candidates must be knowledgeable in land surveying for a variety of applications, including boundary determination, topographic and utility surveys and highway surveys.

Requirements

  • Use and understand survey equipment such as robotic and conventional total stations, GPS and data collectors
  • Download and upload survey data to and from the office
  • Read  and understand construction plans
  • Preform boundary and design level topographic field data collection and construction stake out services.
  • Communicate with project team including owners, managers, clients, and coworkers
  • Perform work duties including but not limited to: digging holes for monuments, walking on rugged terrain, and obtaining invert information on utilities

Experience

  • Survey Crew Chief: 2 years
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations
  • Ability to work independently or on a crew and balance the workload to accommodate demands of the job to exceed client expectations
  • Bachelor’s/Associates Degree in the Surveying field preferred.

LAND SURVEY- TECHNICIAN

KHEOPS Architecture, Engineering and Survey, DPC (KHEOPS) is seeking Land Survey Technicians in our Buffalo, NY office. Survey Technician responsibilities include:

  • Gathering field survey data to determine precise location and measurement of points, elevations, contours, etc.
  • Manage, compute and perform construction staking on various civil engineering and construction projects.
  • Efficiently operate GPS, robotic total stations, data collectors and Trimble survey software.
  • Process and draft survey data in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Implement quality control procedures to verify collected survey data.
  • Be able to manage time and work on field and office projects with minimal supervision.
  • Assist with providing a feedback loop of positive and improved considerations to design team.
  • Track construction issues and bring back to team.
  • Provide review and comment on design drawings prior to construction.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent organizational skills. Strong multi-tasking and follow-up skills. Ability to prioritize.
  • Good time management skills and proactive approach.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel
  • AAS Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Land Surveying with four years of related experience or equivalent preferred
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Trimble survey equipment and software preferred.
  • Must be detail oriented and organized.
  • Above average math skills related to engineering applications.
  • Required to work in an outdoor environment, which will require prolonged periods of standing and walking. Must also be capable of lifting objects weighing 50 to 75 pounds.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
